Each client is different. In some sessions, it is preferred that the parent/ carer does not sit in as the child can interact differently when they are in attendance. We also find that in some cases, parents feel the need to step in and explain things in a different way where we are trying to gauge what the child knows or understands or they try to lead the therapy . We recommend you ask your therapist at the start of the session if they would like you to go in.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)– includes an observation of the child at their usual educational setting. This is done by a psychologist and stays anonymous to the child in order to obtain a more accurate ready.
Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS)– provides an in clinic observation and this is usually a new environment and a new face to the child which we believe will affect the scoring.
Bright FACES offer an extensive range of assessments, some listed below. If you are after an assessment that is not listed, please contact our reception staff on 0410 207 995 or info@brightfaces.com.au

No. All our therapy is in our clinic located at 3/21 Reserve Road Melton or via Zoom. We do offer once off observations for ongoing clients, if required. If your child is going through an ASD assessment, our psychologist may need to attend their educational setting to observe.
If we were to offer therapy off site, we would need to allow for travel time to and from the location, this could potentially take up 2 further session times.
No. We have tried and tested after hours and weekend sessions on numerous occasions and were unsuccessful. We found that on weekends we would have a lot of cancellations due to family engagements or sporting activities and with after hours, it was really difficult for children to focus and get the most out of their therapy session.
We offer all session between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday- 4pm being the last session.
*Thursday evenings at 5pm, we do run an Adolescent & young adults sport/fitness group.
